Bay Choral Guild Auditions
Experienced singers are cordially invited to audition with the Bay Choral Guild. There are openings for all voices. Bay Choral Guild holds auditions for new members at the beginning of each quarter (usually in September, January, and March). Auditions are by appointment only. Auditions for the spring quarter of 2024-2025 will be held on March 24 and 31.
In your audition you will be asked to sing a short, prepared piece of any style that shows your vocal ability and musicality; classical selections are preferred. You will also be asked to do some vocalizing and sight-reading. The audition lasts 10-12 minutes. An accompanist will be provided.
BCG rehearses on Monday evenings, 7:30-10:00 pm at First United Methodist Church, corner of Hamilton and Webster, Palo Alto. There is also one Saturday daytime (9:30–3:30) workshop per quarter. Have a look at our rehearsal and concert schedule to get an idea of what will be expected of you.

Process:

- Name
- Address
- Phone
- Voice part and previous choral/musical experience
- How you heard about us
- Schedule an audition time
- Attend audition
- Results will be communicated at time of audition or via email in the days following your appointment
- We will send applicable registration forms and documents
Fees
- Dues: $150 per quarter
- Music: $40 or less per quarter
- Uniform tunic for women: $40 (men wear tuxedo purchased on their own)
