Viral respiratory infection policy
Wearing masks in rehearsal and performances is optional.
Be aware that COVID is still circulating in the community. BCG is a small organization, and we rely on everyone doing their part to maintain our collective health. The single most important thing you can do is stay home when you are or might be sick with a contagious illness. It's not just COVID; we also don't want you to contract or spread the flu, RSV, or even the common cold.
Vaccinations are a critical tool in keeping these viruses at bay, and we strongly encourage you all to keep current on yours. The 2023 flu vaccine is already available, and later in the fall an updated COVID vaccine and RSV vaccine (for those over 60) will become available.
If you need to miss a rehearsal, notify Sanford as soon as possible.
This policy is effective Sep 3, 2023, and may be revised if conditions warrant.

- Symptoms of a viral respiratory infection include fever, head and body aches, sore throat, cough, and sneezing. If you have any of these symptoms, do not attend rehearsal. For folks with allergies, we know that sneezing is within your "normal", so we're not talking about that, but we're counting on you to recognize when your symptoms go beyond that or include the other indicators of a respiratory infection, and stay home if so.
- If you know you have been exposed to someone with COVID, RSV, or flu but do not yet have symptoms, please wear a mask for the first rehearsal after your exposure. By a week later, it should become clear whether you were infected (in which case stay home until you are well) or were not infected (in which case return to your normal behavior).
