REQUIEM
March 11, 12, 13, 2016
Mozart’s final masterpiece, in collaboration with Peninsula-based New Millennium Chamber Orchestra, directed by James Richard Frieman. We will be using the completion by musicologist Robert D. Levin, which features a more transparent orchestration as well as a whole new Amen fugue (based on Mozart’s own sketches) at the end of the Lacrymosa. Our soloists are Claire Kelm, Danielle Sampson, Elliot Encarnación, and Nikolas Nackley. The program will also include Ralph Vaughan Williams’s Toward the Unknown Region, a cantata set to poetry of Walt Whitman, and will open with Beethoven’s overture to The Creatures of Prometheus.
