Ein Deutsches Requiem
November 21, 22, 23, 2014
Our November concert, Ein deutsches Requiem, showcases Johannes Brahms’ choral masterpiece, one of the great musical pillars of the 19th Century, but in a way you may not have heard before—a chamber setting! We’ll be using the piano four-hands arrangement that Brahms himself prepared for the first British performance of this masterwork. Without the giant orchestra, we’re excited about the new opportunities for clarity, nuance, and flexibility. We hope you agree.
We are very pleased to welcome two wonderful soloists, Jennifer Ashworth, soprano and Ben Kazez, baritone. Both are are both popular, highly respected members of the Bay Area music community.
