DISCOVERY AND REDISCOVERY

Our season begins with a survey of a cappella choral music composed by women. The works we are presenting span the 12th to the 21st centuries and embody diverse themes, musical styles, and moods. You may recognize a few of the more famous names—Fanny Mendelssohn, Alice Parker—and some whose music we have shared with you before—Cecilia McDowall, Nancy Wertsch—but all deserve to be better known. We hope that you will come away with some memorable discoveries!

There will be a preview lecture one half hour before each performance.
