Bay Choral Guild Presents
Gallic Flavor
French Choral Music with Organ and Piano
March 21 and 22, 2009
Maurice Duruflé’s transcendent Requiem highlights our exploration of French Choral music. We also feature works by Fauré, Boulanger, Saint-Saëns and Debussy, all masters of the French choral tradition. From the glorious simplicity, elegance and subtlety of Fauré’s “Cantique de Jean Racine” to Lili Boulanger’s luminous “Hymne au Soleil” and Debussy’s expressive “Trois Chanson”, our program will transport and enchant you.
