Bay Choral Guild’s 2010-2011
Concert Season
“Celebrating the Art of
Unaccompanied Singing”
In our 2010-2011 season Bay Choral Guild celebrates the art of
unaccompanied singing with three a cappella programs of
unsurpassed beauty. Drawing on sources from more than 500 years of choral
music, each concert explores a particular aspect of the a cappella
tradition.
Our December concert of Christmas classics highlights familiar carols from
the Medieval, Renaissance and Romantic eras as well as showcasing newer
works and popular favorites. In March we present a BCG first: an all-West-Coast-composer extravaganza, which features music by living composers from Southern California, the Bay Area, Oregon and Washington, and includes two world premieres. We
conclude the season in June with a Festival of Masses, honoring the most
important genre in the history of choral music. There’s a lot of
gorgeous music to look forward to, so please make plans to join us!
