Bay Choral Guild Auditions

Bay Choral Guild holds auditions for new members in September, December, March and June. We are also happy to hear singers periodically throughout the season. Auditions are by appointment only.

Auditions for new singers for the Winter Quarter of 2009 will be held before our regularly scheduled Monday evening rehearsals of January 5 and 12.

You will be asked to sing a prepared piece of any style that shows your vocal ability and musicality (classical selection are preferred). Artistic director Sanford Dole will also ask you to do some vocalizing and sight-reading. The audition lasts 10-12 minutes. An accompanist will be provided.

Auditions are held in the same location as rehearsals—Kohlstedt Hall, located on the lower level of First United Methodist Church, corner of Hamilton and Webster, Palo Alto.

• Schedule an audition time
• Attend audition
• Results will be communicated at time of audition or via email in the days following your appointment
• We will send applicable registration forms and documents

Fees

• Dues: $125 per quarter, which includes tuition for Foothill College (3 quarters per season)
• Music: $30 or less per quarter
• Uniform tunic for women: $40 (men wear tux purchased on their own)

Scholarships available. Application and screening required. Special scholarships offered to high school and collegiate singers accepted into the Guild (audition required).

Bay Choral Guild is part of the Foothill College Performing Arts Alliance whereby singers receive 1 hour college credit per quarter from Foothill College.
