Bay Choral Guild Auditions

Bay Choral Guild holds auditions for new members in September, December, and March. We are also happy to hear singers periodically throughout the season. Auditions are by appointment only.

Experienced singers are cordially invited to audition with the Bay Choral Guild for our 2009-2010 season. There are openings for all voices. Rehearsals are Monday evenings from 7:30-10:00 pm in Kohlstedt Hall, located on the lower level of First United Methodist Church, corner of Hamilton and Webster, Palo Alto. Auditions for the Spring Quarter will be held Monday, March 15, before our first regularly scheduled rehearsal of the quarter. You can view our 2009-2010 rehearsal schedule here .

You will be asked to sing a prepared piece of any style that shows your vocal ability and musicality (classical selection are preferred). Artistic director Sanford Dole will also ask you to do some vocalizing and sight-reading. The audition lasts 10-12 minutes. An accompanist will be provided.

Fees

• Dues: $125 per quarter, which includes tuition for Foothill College (3 quarters per season)
• Music: $30 or less per quarter
• Uniform tunic for women: $40 (men wear tux purchased on their own)

Scholarships available. Application and screening required. Special scholarships offered to high school and collegiate singers accepted into the Guild (audition required).

Bay Choral Guild is part of the Foothill College Performing Arts Alliance whereby singers receive 1 hour college credit per quarter from Foothill College.
